THE ECHO WE LEAVE
How do we know the world remembers
the footsteps we once made,
when time keeps moving forward
and every moment starts to fade?
Did we leave behind a little light,
a reason for someone to smile,
a word that helped them carry on
when life became too hard for a while?
Maybe our mark is not a monument,
or a name carved into stone.
Maybe it lives in someone’s heart
long after we have gone.
A kindness quietly given,
a hand reaching out in need,
a moment when we chose to care
instead of letting someone bleed.
We may never see the ripples
from the things we say and do,
but somewhere in another life,
our smallest act may carry through.
So leave a little light behind,
even when nobody knows—
for sometimes the deepest footprints
are the ones that never show.
And when our chapter reaches its end,
perhaps this much will remain:
We were here.
We touched a life.
And our echo still remains.
