MONTH OF AUGUST

I’m not trying to be a journalist
Don’t need to tell the whys of August
It’s way too hot to have a wanderlust
Rather sit in my recliner and stare like a bust
Let the air conditioner on my bones gust
No need to glare at the bill with disgust
Like it or not this heat you can distrust
But guess what….
This is only the start of August

Only the Start of August
I’m not trying to be a journalist,
No need to explain the whys of August.
It’s far too hot to chase a wanderlust;
I’d rather sink into my recliner like a bust.
Let the air conditioner cool my bones,
While summer claims the world it owns.
No need to glare at the power bill with disgust—
In this relentless heat, comfort is a must.
Like it or not, this season tests our trust;
The blazing sun leaves little but dust.
Yet before you think we’ve seen the worst…
Remember—
This is only the start of August.
