Cranium Indigo By Sam Tumblin

Cranium Indigo

How you’re going to release
What’s already been fleeced
Veins of rust beneath the skin
Rotting slowly deep within

Granules falling hand to grave
Nothing left for time to save
Eyes grow hollow, voices thin
Every loss absorbed within

Nothing ever brings dismay
We become this life one day
Teeth of fate and fractured bone
Teach the soul to stand alone

These verses etched were born to bleed
From starving thoughts the dark will feed
I tip my brim to death’s cold call
Answering questions others stall

Cranium indigo won’t cease
Even shadows beg release
Still the silence feeds the beast
How you’re going to release
What’s already been fleeced
