Still Something to Achieve
by Sam Tumblin
The world feels heavy more each day,
Too many hearts just fade away.
Sirens cry through sleepless nights,
Darkness swallowing distant lights.
Wars are fought for hollow gain,
Leaving families wrapped in pain.
Greed moves quiet through every street,
Stealing hope from tired feet.
Some walk lost with vacant eyes,
Searching truth through endless lies.
Others drown in silent grief,
Holding on beyond belief.
Yet somewhere through the deepest ache,
A restless soul begins to wake.
Not every scar was made to stay,
Not every shadow blocks the day.
You still breathe, your heart still beats,
There are roads beneath your feet.
There are dreams not touched or seen,
Places your soul has never been.
So rise even when hope feels thin,
Let tomorrow slowly begin.
The world may bend beneath the strain,
But purpose still survives the pain.
What is left in life to achieve?
More than sorrow would have you believe.
Hold on tight through all you endure,
There is still something worth fighting for.
