Can we turn the pages back
To a time before we knew
How quickly moments disappear
And how the old days grew?
We laughed without a reason
And stayed up without care
Never thinking tomorrow
Could take us anywhere.
The days felt like forever
The nights were ours to keep
We spoke what was on our minds
And promises ran deep.
If trouble found our doorway
We never let it stay
We talked until the tension faded
And somehow found a way.
Now memories wear different colors
As the years continue on
But somewhere inside those moments
A piece of us lives on.
Maybe we can’t go backward
No matter how we try
But we can carry those better days
And keep their light alive.

Amen
