Black Heart – By Sam Tumblin

Black Heart — By Sam Tumblin

So you want to call a bluff,
Tell me now, when is enough?
My hands stay open, unafraid,
Though deep scars in my heart were laid.

You told me silence keeps the peace,
But empty promises slowly cease.
No longer chained to words you gave,
I learned even love can misbehave.

Now I reach beyond the stars,
Past broken roads and faded scars.
Once together, now afar,
Two lost souls beneath one scarred star.

Memories fade into a blur,
No fire remains for you to stir.
The warmth we held has turned apart,
All that remains — a blackened heart.

Yet from the dark I still will rise,
With shattered truth behind my eyes.
For even hearts consumed by night
Still search the heavens for their light.
