ENTOMBED

I asked you to set me free,
To escape this endless misery.
For sometimes love becomes a prison,
Where hope is buried without reason.

It’s better now to walk away,
Than beg for one more empty day.
Entombed within a silent heart,
Knowing we were worlds apart.

The echoes linger in my soul,
Leaving wounds that time can’t console.
Though memories knock upon my door,
I cannot live there anymore.

So let the silence have its say,
As fading shadows drift away.
For freedom often wears disguise,
Hidden behind tear-filled eyes.

I’ll carry scars that time has sewn,
Yet walk this road on my own.
Not every ending is defeat—
Sometimes surrender is retreat.

If ever our paths should cross again,
May there be no lingering pain.
Only gratitude for what once grew,
And strength for all we’ve both been through.
