THE SELF WITHIN
Often alter egos we hide,
Only in our hearts to confide.
Happy, glad, gloomy, goth inside,
Each a companion by our side.
Masks we wear throughout the day,
Guarding thoughts we tuck away.
Yet beneath the world’s broad tide,
Lives the soul we cannot hide.
Dreamer, warrior, poet, guide,
All reside and coincide.
For what lies buried deep within,
Shapes the life we journey in.
